Study of the concepts, theories and processes of mass media and mass communication in the world, with particular emphasis on government-media relationships.

To provide a context for how international and intercultural communication affects you, we will study human communication and its role(s) as well as culture and its role(s) in society. This semester, we will also look at how new technologies, including social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace, have affected worldwide communication.
